Obituary


Ann Laurena Morris, a loved and long time resident of the Tyler area, peacefully passed on to Heaven Friday May the 12th of 2017 at the Homeplace Hospice of Tyler.

Born December the 12th of 1929 in Port Neches, TX to Maude Frances Kramer Morris and Lawrence Oswald Morris Ann received a degree in education upon graduating from Sam Houston University and taught Physical Education in Port Neches. Ann later received a degree in Physical Therapy and served others until retiring from Medical Center, Tyler where she was the Chief Physical Therapist.

Ann later received a degree in Physical Therapy and served others until retiring from Medical Center, Tyler where she was the Chief Physical Therapist.

Ann excelled both in academic and sporting activities including bowling, fishing, and softball receiving numerous trophies and awards for her successes. She also enjoyed camping and traveling both in country and abroad. Also an adamant animal lover, Ann cared and tendered to many pets including cats and dogs. She would often take in stray animals out of kindness and compassion and nurse them to health before welcoming them into her home.

Ann was preceded in passing by her parents; brother Fritz Morris; sisters Frances Harvill, Mary Kitchen and two infant siblings.

She is survived by her sister Catherine Rutherford and her husband Kenneth; numerous nieces and nephews as well as grand and great nieces and nephews and The Kevin Tate family whom she loved and considered family. She is also survived by her beloved pet dogs Maverick and BeBe and Tinkerbell her cherished cat.
