.Irene Coleman Cundiff, 92, passed away peacefully at Prestige Estates Assisted Living in Tyler.

She was born March 27, 1925 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Annie Mildred Anders and Jamieson Olin Coleman. Irene graduated from high school in St. Augustine, Florida in 1942 and Florida State College for women and Florida State University in 1947 with a B.A. in economics. She met and married Jerry Allen Cundiff in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on December 30, 1948. They lived in Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma prior to settling down in Tyler in 1961. She was...

.Irene Coleman Cundiff, 92, passed away peacefully at Prestige Estates Assisted Living in Tyler.

She was born March 27, 1925 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Annie Mildred Anders and Jamieson Olin Coleman. Irene graduated from high school in St. Augustine, Florida in 1942 and Florida State College for women and Florida State University in 1947 with a B.A. in economics. She met and married Jerry Allen Cundiff in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on December 30, 1948. They lived in Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma prior to settling down in Tyler in 1961. She was employed at Highland Presbyterian Church as a secretary and organist for 20 years. Irene was also employed by Hospice of East Texas for 22 years before retiring in 2006 and she was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, American Guild of Organist and Howe-Baker Wife's Club. She had many interest including travel, sewing, playing the organ and being a loving "Nana.

Mrs. Cundiff was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Jerry Allen Cundiff; her sister Virginia Coleman; and her brother Olin Coleman.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Lee and Mike Johnson of Tyler; her son and daughter-in-law Steven and Cindi Cundiff of Salt Lake City, Utah; her sister Mary Sue Jones of Asheville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Irene's Celebration of life was held on her 92nd birthday, on March 27,2017 at Prestige Estates Assisted Living in Tyler. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.

No services will be held.
